The journey begins here: this is the story of how Ken Suson transformed from a dedicated trainee into the magnetic Main Dancer and Rapper of P-pop pioneers SB19.From the gritty training days to the slow-burn success of their debut single "Tilaluha," everything changed with the viral hit "Go Up." This period, culminating in the first EP Pagsibol (2021), established Ken's unique role: a quiet intensity that exploded into sharp, powerful dance and a signature deep vocal tone on tracks like "Bazinga." This track cemented the group’s global status by setting a record for the longest run at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart.This chapter is about persistence, brotherhood, and the pivotal growth of the P-pop star Ken, laying the foundation for everything that followed.
In 2021, Ken broke new ground by launching his solo moniker, FELIP, showcasing his full creative control and his dedication to his Bisaya heritage. This "Experimental" phase kicked off with the R&B track "Palayo," sung primarily in Cebuano, followed by the aggressive, mythologically-themed hip-hop track "Bulan." FELIP's artistic risk paid off when he became the first Filipino artist to perform on the GRAMMYs Global Spin series with "Bulan."The debut EP, COM.PLEX, firmly separated FELIP’s dark, introspective sound from his group work, cementing him not just as a performer, but as a producer and a powerful cultural messenger.
Returning to the group in full force, the Pagtatag! (2023) era marked SB19's assertion of collective independence and creative strength. Symbolizing "establishment," this chapter saw all members transition to self-management under the banner of 1Z Entertainment, giving the entire group deeper artistic control over their sound and direction.The lead single, "Gento," became a global phenomenon fueled by its explosive viral choreography and the polished synergy of all five members. The song achieved international recognition including debuting on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.What truly shone was the blending of worlds: the confidence and creative edge FELIP gained in his solo work seamlessly integrated into Ken’s performance, contributing to a more mature, refined, and globally competitive sound for the unified force that is SB19.
With a firm foundation laid both in his group work and his experimental solo phase, FELIP dived fully into his rawest artistic influences, embracing the title of "ROCKSTA."This period, defined by a shift toward hard-hitting rock and rap, culminated in his 2024 debut full-length album, 7Sins. Simula at Wakas, the third and final EP of the SB19 trilogy, serves as a poignant conclusion and an exciting new beginning. The album, whose title means "Beginning and End," is a reflective and ambitious piece that closes the door on the group's early journey while pointing toward their future as self-managed artists.The EP's lead single, "Dam," achieved historic international success, becoming the first song by a Filipino artist to ever top the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. This major accolade highlighted the group's global power and the track's quality.Ken's evolution as a producer and songwriter comes full circle here, contributing his refined skills directly to group tracks like "Quit."
